3D Shape Worksheets labeling

Are you looking for 3D shape worksheets for grades 3 – 5? As Teachers, we try to make teaching as’hands on’ as possible. Bearing this in mind, I made this collection of 3D shape charts and folding activities to allow students to see properties of each 3D shape and to construct the nets for cubes, rectangular prisms, cylinders, cones, triangular pyramids, rectangular pyramids and triangular prisms.

3D Shape Worksheets for Grades 3 – 5

This is a collection of 3D Shape worksheets, posters, a word wall, a sorting activity, 3d shape net foldables, and a memory game. I also included definitions and pictures of real world examples. Click here to get it at TPT. The pictures below are only some of what it has. Check them out!

3D-Shapes Real world examples

This is one of the tutorial pages that introduce each 3D shape. The tutorial pages come before the 3D shape worksheets and activities. I made it a point to use real pictures of real world objects that are shaped like these 3D shapes. Each 3D shape has three picture examples on this page.

There are templates for you to print and cut out the nets of 3D shapes. There are nets for cubes, rectangular prisms, cylinders, cones, triangular pyramids, rectangular pyramids and triangular prisms. There are two sets of nets for these 3D shapes: with foldabe flaps, and without flaps.

3D Shape memory game

There is a sorting activity for students to match labeled 3D shape picture cards to corresponding cards that describe the attributes of the 3D shape. This can be played like a memory game.

This is a close-up view of the 3D Shape memory game cards. This is how they are printed out with the matching cards on one page. After you cut them out, they are ready to be used. I recomment printed them on white cardstock. If your print them on regular white paper, they should be laminated to last you a long time.

3D shape matching name to shape

This page is an answer key for one of the worksheets. Students just have to draw lines to match the 3D shape images on the left to the corresponding names of the 3D shapes on the right. After this, they can color the 3D shapes. I used 3D shape images that have solid outlines and no fill, with a transparent look to them so that students can see and count all of the edges and corners of the 3D shapes to better identify them by their features.

This prevents them from confusing a triangular pyramid with a square based pyramid. They are usually hard to tell apart in pictures, depending on the angle of the shapes.
