Science is my favorite subject to teach! Why? It’s so hands-on! When I’m teaching my Simple Machines unit, my students enjoy making levers, turning the gears and lifting things using a makeshift pulley. I use co-operative learning in the exploration, explanation, and extension phases of the 5E learning cycle, which I use in all of my science lesson plans. As a bonus to these simple machines lesson plans, I created a mini quiz about gears that’s a free download which can be used along with my Simple Machines Unit Plan. To read more about each lesson in the unit, you can download a free preview from TpT (just click on the orange download preview button). All five lessons are available for purchase at TpT.
More ideas will be added soon.
Thank you for the invitation Misty. I do love to teach science using the 5E learning cycle but it's unfortunate that I am so crazy busy. I have three more weeks of school left. I'll be happy to take you up on your offer in early August.
I am researching the 5Es as I am heading to NASA in a few days for training in this area. While I was out, I found this post! LOVE it! Would you be willing to do a guest post on my blog about the 5Es?
