Types of Advent Calendars for Classrooms

Classroom Advent calendars can be in the form of wall hanging pocket charts, over the door shoe holders, or mini drawer chests.

Wall Hanging Pocket Chart Advent Calendars for Classrooms

Make a DIY Advent Calendar pocket chart: A numbered pocket chart can be used as an advent calendar. If you use a blank pocket chart with plastic pockets, number stickers can be added to them. The pockets are only big enough for small items click classroom rewards. Teachers put shopkins and candy in them. See my classroom reward ideas to find tiny items, such as stickers, that would be most ideal for the pocket charts. You can decorate the pocket chart by hot gluing Christmas themed wired ribbon around it.

Over the Door Advent Calendars for Classrooms

Use a large pocket chart: This shoe holder has 24 pockets and it is the perfect size for an Advent Calendar with homemade gifts. Huge safety pins were used to secure the gifts. The pocket chart can be use after the Advent season for classroom storage.

Advent Calendar Drawer Chests

Wooden Advent calendar with drawers: This little wooden drawer chest has numbered drawers for each day.

Plastic Drawer organizer Advent Calendar: A drawer organizer can hold more items than most pocket charts. This one has 24 drawers and it comes in black, red, or yellow. You can make your own number labels for the inside of each drawer. The labels would need to be approximately 4″ x 2″.

Nativity Scene Advent Calendars

Nativity Advent Calendars: Each of the nativity advent calendars above are from different brands but they usually come folded. If the folding has caused creasing, you can get the creases out with a garment steamer.
